Guided tour: |
Highly qualified guides accompany school parties through the apartments of the lord and his family, the lord’s bedroom, the great hall where festivities were held... helping the children to understand the whole “works” of a nobleman’s residence in the 15th century. |
The craft workshops:
|
“Tapestries - from weaving to painting” (for children aged around 11 years old)
With the aid of a questionnaire, the children learn about the uses, production and décors of the château’s tapestries. In the workshop, they make a preparatory cartoon based on tapestries they’ve seen during their visit, which helps them begin to understand the creative process.
“Furniture in the 15th century” (for children of around 12 years old)
The students learn about the items of furniture in the château, including both their uses and decorative features, which in turn gives an idea of daily life in the Middle Ages. Afterwards, the children make a model of a chest, enabling them to understand the dimensions and ornamentation characteristic of the period.
